Mystik Belle: A Colorful Adventure Game
Mystik Belle is an adventure game developed by WayForward Technologies. The game is set in the Hagmore School of Magic and you play as Belle MacFae, a freshman student who gets framed for upsetting an ancient ritual. To avoid expulsion, Belle is given an impossible task - to re-create the Walpurgisnacht Brew. The game is a hybrid of a classic point-and-click adventure and a modern metroidvania, inspired by games like Slightly Magic, Puff in Dragonland, and the Dizzy series.
The game offers a wide range of features, including exploring the massive school building and its surrounding areas, finding items, solving inventory puzzles, interacting with other inhabitants of Hagmore, fighting through hallways infested by over 60 unique monster types, defeating 8 bosses, and learning new magical and not-so-magical abilities. All of this is set in retina-burningly colorful pixel art that is sure to catch your eye. However, be advised that the game contains some language not suitable for younger kids. A much more kid-friendly E-10 version of the dialogue is included, and can be selected from the options menu.
